How progression works
Character level and card level are different. Treasures arrive at fixed character levels, while even character levels award a point that you decide how to spend.
Gain one character point at every even character level from 4 through 24. Spend it on an ability, the Necromancer skill, or an HP upgrade.
Choose one of two treasures at every odd character level from 5 through 23.
The skill ends at tier 3. HP may be upgraded four times. A second ability follows the same Necromancer ability tree.
A completed level-24 build can have two max-level abilities, a max-level skill, and four HP upgrades.
Necromancer ability tree
Begin by summoning a Skeleton Servant, then develop toward raising recently stunned champions in greater numbers, without Health loss, or with a life-draining payoff. Use this same tree when developing the Necromancer’s second ability.
Animate Dead
- Sacrifice: Put up to 2 champions that were stunned since your last turn from any discard pile or piles into play. Lose Health equal to the highest cost among them. As they leave play, put them back into their discard piles.
Corpse Raising
- Sacrifice: Put a champion that was stunned since your last turn from any discard pile into play. As it leaves play, put it back into that discard pile.
Empty Graves
- Sacrifice: Put up to 3 champions that were stunned since your last turn from any discard pile or piles into play. Lose Health equal to the highest cost among them. As they leave play, put them back into their discard piles.
Grave Robbery
- Sacrifice: Put up to 2 champions that were stunned since your last turn from any discard pile or piles into play. As they leave play, put them back into their discard piles.
Reawaken
- Sacrifice: Put a champion that was stunned since your last turn from any discard pile into play. Gain Health equal to its cost and target opponent loses Health equal to its cost. As it leaves play, put it back into that discard pile.
Necromancer skill: Bone Raising
The Necromancer skill creates Skeleton tokens, then develops toward a larger swarm, stronger skeletons, or a balance between both approaches.
Skull Swarm
- Expend and pay 2 Gold: Put 3 Skeleton Servant tokens into play.
Corpse Horde
- Expend and pay 2 Gold: Lose 2 Health. Put 2 Skeleton Servant tokens into play. Your skeletons have +1 Defense until your next turn.
Strong Bones
- Expend and pay 2 Gold: Put a Skeleton Warrior token into play. Your skeletons have +1 Defense until your next turn.
HP upgrades
A character point may be spent on HP up to four times. Track those purchases separately from both abilities and the class skill.
