Arwen looked at Abacus and sneered just a little. He was used to how Abacus somehow always found himself doing the easiest tasks, but right at this moment – covered in dust and with sweat flowing down his spine like a river – he wasn’t in a mood to just keep quiet. “If you don’t get in here and start digging, I am going to take this shovel and wipe that smug smile off your face.” The threat might just be that – a threat. But the anger was real and Abacus seemed to understand that he meant business.

“Why is it even us who’s got to dig? It is going to take us days to clear space enough for Robin to use it as a holding space.” He hadn’t heard the whole reasoning and until just a few moments ago, he hadn’t even thought he needed it. But truth be told, he really, really hated digging. But Abacus was already starting to work up a sweat and that made Arwen feel a little bit better, when the reply came. “Because people might notice Robin or her crew going missing for a few days. We aren’t even supposed to be here, remember? The Smugglers are doing better in the tournament and we don’t want people asking questions. Especially not Heinrich.” “Captain Heinrich,” Arwen immediately corrected in an uppity tone and they both burst out laughing.

The laugh did him good and Arwen grabbed the shovel with more gusto afterwards. It did make a certain degree of sense. Since they got a share in the deal between the barkeeper and the Smugglers, they did have an interest in making things work out. And since Captain Heinrich had gone greedy and now demanded higher payment for the use of his warehouses by the harbor – as well as his fees for the river transport – they needed a new place to store their goods. But digging was never fun and digging in dusty tunnels with little to no air even less so.

“Do we need to give Blood, Sweat and Beers a helping hand next week?” he said after they had worked for a while and his thoughts had circled back to the tournament. “The Decepticons could stand to be taken down a peg. Their win streak is bad for business. Theirs and Heroes of the Damned. After what happened to the Hand last season, people are hesitant to place their bets.”

Abacus looked to his friend and sent him a smile full of promise. “There might be ways to handle that.”

The Decepticons and Heroes of the Damned are still undefeated in the tournament! Congratulations to both teams for making it so far. The Smugglers are right on their heels though and might take advantage if they skip a step, while the Brave Travelers, the Street Thugs and Nightmare on Realm Street have all won half of their brawls up until now.

Clerics have taken the lead in the character statistics – just in time for the new health cap. It will be exciting to see how they fare in the new meta!
