The plan was simple; Aeric and Raelyn would split up, find the mapmaker and convince her to meet them back at the room they rented above the Tipsy Turtle Inn. Raelyn was staking out her place of employment, the Counting House, in hopes of meeting after the end of work. Aeric was headed to the home of the mapmaker in case she was away from her office.

They needed help before anything leaked back to their employers, and they couldn’t risk a public meeting. They needed to arrange the private session before the caravan began moving through the tunnels and before the Syndicate assigned them any new criminal work.  Postponing an assignment from the Silent Syndicate was not an option; that could lead to unfortunate outcomes.

Raelyn waited several hours and, when there was still no sign of the sister, slipped away and headed back toward the rendezvous point.  Her years spent tracking in the Wild Woods of Tzorgon confirmed her suspicions; someone was certainly following her!  She did her best to use the bustling crowds of the Bazaar in the Old City to lose her hunters. However, she was almost certain that she had been followed by four prominent Brawlers: Eadwheat, Caspar the Wise, bokchoy ganker, and Precious Hugo.

This was no coincidence! On the day Raelyn was hunting down the mapmaker sister of Hoood, the four other members of the Wild Bunch were on the prowl and trailing her. With a bit of dread, Raelyn realized that left Hoood unaccounted for. Hopefully, Aeric the Wizard had already made contact and stayed out of the line of fire from Hoood’s trusty longbow.

It quickly became apparent that something was very wrong with the plan they had built. Raelyn hoped that Aeric would safely soon return to the Inn with the mapmaker.
