Dipping the quill tip in the inkpot perched precariously at his desk, Arwen finished his notes on parchment with precision. He slowly smiled and called to his companion, “Come look over the latest results, it seems we have several brawlers that have risen above the rank of common mercenary. Some may even have potential within the various Guilds. Think of the possibilities!”

Abacus looked over his friend’s notes and while all of the details and documentation were certainly above reproach, the conclusion was far less certain. “To tell the truth, this is just what the Commissar had ordered, nay, this is what was demanded. She won’t stand for whispered rumors of one team of Brawlers being part of a rigged system, that would be the wrong message to send to the locals.”

Picking up a heavy purse of gold, Abacus shuffled his hand through the heavy piles of precious metals and then boasted, “We need to invest more time and effort into this league to drive revenue to greater heights. We just need to focus on the perfect vessels as we plan the future of the league.”

Sensing the opportunity to find the common ground between them, Arwen jumped in and listed off the names of the four heroes who remained unbeaten in four weeks of regular competition. “Magnara, Artemis, Atriok, and Jinx. These are the brightstars of this competition. Three wizards and one ranger representing four different teams of competitors. Their extraordinary performance could provide the spectacle and leverage we need to make certain that no one forgets this inaugural season of violence, mayhem, and delicious profit!”

In Week 4 of Tavern Brawls, The Hand continued their domination of the league, once again winning and producing a perfect season record of 4-0.  The brawl with the HotD was incredibly tense and almost went to the upstart Heroes.

In other league notable news, the Jawbreakers’ game has steadily improved as they managed to take down the underworld’s finest brawlers, The Smugglers. Interestingly, The Smugglers have managed to have a better than 50% winning percentage, although that hasn’t translated into their team record. And rounding out this week’s results as we head towards the final week of regular season competition, BSB solidly thumped DSM with a 4-1 set victory. On team DSM, only the ne’er-do-well Minuet (the moocher) was able to punch back and score the lone win for the losing side.
